Client Testimonials

After a networking workshop for Comic Relief on 22 June 2010,  Melanie Allen, Training Officer,  wrote, 'I involved Heather in our Learning at Work day which aimed to increase connections between our staff and spawn ideas for personal development. I contacted Heather after a personal experience with her myself, and we asked her to give staff more confidence networking and teach them some skills they could use internally and externally for creating new relationships. Heather rose to the challenge magnificently and brought her full enthusiasm to bear. Because of her expertise she can deliver exactly what you need so we were able to offer our 'work a room' session over a lunchtime so as many people as possible could attend. In 60 minutes people laughed and learned practical techniques, body language, and strategies to help them succeed at networking in a way that suited them. After the session our staff reported a dramatic shift in knowledge and confidence to network and I would recommend Heather to anyone who's business involves one to one relationships.'

Following Heather's Networking Workshop for 200 people for Humber Business Week 2010 on 10 June 2010, Nicola Trussell, Investment & Marketing Officer, Strategic Regeneration, wrote, 'Heather delivered a very interesting and engaging presentation regarding the importance of networking for businesses of all sizes, which received excellent feedback from the delegates. We were delighted to have Heather's involvement in Humber Business Week 2010 - her positive ethos to business really complemented Business Week's events in supporting business development in the Humber region.'

After Heather's presentation, Smarter Networking for FDs for the Charity Finance Directors' Group Annual Conference on 18 May 2010, David Membrey, Acting Chief Executive, wrote, 'Heather's session at our Annual Conference 2010 had the highest overall feedback score of any event we have put on in the past five years (and probably much longer) of 9.1 out of 10. She created a real buzz amongst our normally pretty staid delegates and as a result far more than usual attended the post-conference reception to put into practice their new-found networking skills. I really hope we will be able to invite Heather to speak at future CFDG events.'  Website link

After Heather's Networking Presentation for the London Business Network on 21 April 2010, Maria Ralph, Events & Stakeholder Manager, wrote, 'Thank you for facilitating a networking session at the end of our presentation to introduce CompeteFor to businesses in London.  It might not have gone strictly according to plan but you were really professional in the way you managed this and  I believe the exercise was really worthwhile, demonstrating that what we really need to do at these events is to give people 'permission' to network and a little bit of encouragement.  Your talk at the beginning and just after the Q&A proved this - we had to kick people out of the venue at 9.30pm!'

Following the Networking for Professionals presentation by Heather White for the IMA Institute on 17 March 2010, Pamela Harding wrote,  'Can you please thank Heather again for a very interesting and highly useful session.  I've seen a number of networking presentations, however this is the first that has inspired me.'

Following Heather's presentation at EMR's Annual Sales Conference on 22 January 2010, Simon Bassett, Managing Director, wrote, 'Having not worked in our sector before, Heather took great care to do her due diligence into EMR and became familiar with our unique culture as well as some of the broader business values and corporate objectives. Heather took the time to meet several of our sales team and put together a bespoke networking workshop which was delivered with great effect at our annual sales conference. We wanted to get the team thinking about their personal branding and how to network effectively and professionally. This was achieved and endorsed by some excellent feedback from the business. I would certainly have no hesitations in recommending Heather and her approach.'  Website Link

Following a networking event for PA Consulting run by Heather on 10 December 2009, Saana Karki, Principal Consultant,  wrote, 'Many thanks for your great support in facilitating our successful networking event. From our very first meeting to the final follow ups we were impressed by Heather's genuine passion for the topic. We felt in safe hands throughout the organisation with your hints and tips ensuring everything went smoothly, both in the run up and on the evening. We were particularly pleased with your openness to share so many useful tools and measures based on past experiences, as well as your guidance and availability in involving our employees right from the guest invitations to coaching and follow ups. We met all our key objectives of re-connecting our staff and business contacts through an informal and fun evening while also learning more about networking. Michael's magic on rapport building was an especially entertaining as well as insightful bonus.'

After The Art of Networking by Heather White for the Croydon Churches Housing Association (CCHA) annual staff conference on 3 December 2009, Ian Winslet, Chief Executive, wrote, 'Fabulous afternoon with great staff reviews. Heather really brought home the need to network and provided real life tips and guidance to suit the real differences in people. Particularly impressive was Heather's ability to grasp the nuances of the Housing Association industry and apply commercial thought to help our teams perform. Inspiring, focussed and great value - well done Heather.'   Website Link...

 Delegate Testimonials

"I have a structure to enable my career progression and support the launch of our Women In Technology network...with confidence."  Louise Dawber, O2.

"Very interesting and thought provoking workshop that covered a huge range of topics and provided much information. Made me think about networking in relation to the team and how to foster networking development and own personal brand." Susannah Quinsee,  Director, Learning Development, City University London.

I don’t know about you, but my idea of networking was going to events and conferences in my industry, seeing who I knew there (and catching up with them) then trying to find new people who might be helpful to my work, ie lead to new business. I got a lot of really helpful advice from Steph at Smarter Networking but the one thing that stood out for me was what networking is all about – and I’d got it quite wrong! I now have a clear strategy that I’m following and a handful of helpful tips, like how (and when) you can join a group already in conversation, how to read body language and so on. The training session was informal and actually quite a lot of fun, but most of all it’s helped enormously in an area that is increasingly important to my work.” Nigel Ostime, 3D Reid.
